Van Atta Engineering is a civil engineering and surveying firm that has been providing quality civil engineering and surveying services to the southwest Ohio region since 1994. We specialize in the following services:

• Civil Engineering:
• Site Development Engineering and Land Planning for Commercial/Office
• Higher Education
• Medical Facilities
• Site Development Engineering and Land Planning for Single Family Residential projects as well as Multi-Family projects.
• Mainline Utility Extensions for Public and Private Developments (Sanitary Sewer & Water Mains).
• Public Roadway Design

Job Overview:

Van Atta Engineering is seeking an entry level Civil Engineer to help with a varied array of site civil design projects. Qualified candidates must exhibit a professional attitude, innovative ideas, analytical problem solving, ability to work independently as well as a willingness to collaborate with other team members.

Education and Required Certifications:

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Engineer Intern Certification (EI) required or attainable within the first year of employment.

Experience and Required Skills:

• 0-4 years of experience in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Microsoft Office experience required (Word, Excel Spreadsheets)
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal skills required.

Job Duties:

• Performing site due diligence for new projects.
• Researching requirements of local municipalities
• Collecting data from local utility companies
• Analysis of local zoning codes and planning processes.
• Drainage Design
• Storm Sewer system calculations
• Storm Water Detention/Retention design
• Cost Estimation
• Site Layout/Design
• Mainline Utility Design (Water Lines, Sanitary Sewers, and Storm Sewers)
• Revise plans and associated documents to address review comments.
• Prepare permit application packages as required by the project.
• Assist with preparation of Engineering reports and specs.

Over time the candidate will increase their efficiency at completing design tasks, client service, communication skills and plan development techniques.
