• Site Development Engineering and Land Planning for Commercial/Office
• Higher Education
• Medical Facilities
• Site Development Engineering and Land Planning for Single Family Residential projects as well as Multi-Family projects.
• Mainline Utility Extensions for Public and Private Developments (Sanitary Sewer & Water Mains).
• Public Roadway Design.
• ALTA (American Land Title Association) Surveys

Job Overview:

Van Atta Engineering is seeking an experienced Professional Surveyor to help with a varied array of site civil design and survey projects.

Qualified candidates must exhibit a professional attitude, innovative ideas, analytical problem solving, ability to work independently as well as a willingness to collaborate with other team members. A qualified candidate is expected to be able to take a project and run with it from start to finish.

Education and Required Certifications:

• Bachelor Degree in Land Surveying or equivalent from an Accredited Institution.
• Ohio Professional Surveying (PS) Certification required.
• Active Involvement in Professional Organizations related to Surveying is a plus.

Experience and Required Skills:

• 4-10 years of experience in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering and Land Development.
• Working knowledge of conventional, robotic and GPS survey equipment.
• Experience in office and field tasks required by Land Surveying and Civil Engineering projects.
• Experience with Construction Layout and standards of practice.
• Microsoft Office experience required (Word, Excel Spreadsheets)
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience required.
• Excellent written and verbal skills required.

Job Duties:

• Coordinate a team of field and office personnel.
• Prepare project proposals.
• Perform Deed and plan research.
• Prepare Required Survey documents following local municipality requirements (Record Plans, Plat of Survey documents, Legal Descriptions, and plot plans)
• Responsible for project permitting and approvals through local agencies.
• Coordinate and prepare ALTA Surveys.
• Coordinate and prepare Topographic Surveys.
• Prepare Easement Exhibits and Descriptions.
• Perform Flood Elevation Certifications and obtain approval through FEMA as needed.
